Travel Itinerary
Day 1
Padang – Siberut – Mentawai Interior
06:10 AM – Meet at Muaro Port, Padang, and complete the departure process.
07:00 AM – Depart for Siberut Island by Mentawai Fast speedboat.
Transit in the northern area of Siberut with lunch at a local restaurant. Upon arrival in Siberut, the journey continues by local vehicle to a riverside village, followed by a river trip using a traditional wooden boat called a pompong.
After arriving in the interior area, participants will take a light trek to the Uma, the traditional Mentawai house, and meet the local family as well as the Sikerei, the spiritual leader of the Mentawai community. The evening will be spent with the host family, experiencing the atmosphere of traditional life that remains well preserved to this day.
Day 2
Cultural Activities & Traditional Life
Spend a full day participating in various cultural activities with the Mentawai community, including:
- Learning about the process of making Baiko, the traditional Mentawai waistcloth.
- Watching the preparation of natural poison used for hunting arrows.
- Learning traditional fishing techniques in the river using local methods.
- Searching for sago worms with the local community and learning about their role in Mentawai food traditions.
- Interacting directly with Mentawai families to understand their way of life, beliefs, and philosophy.
In the evening, participants can enjoy a storytelling and cultural exchange session with the host family.
Note: All activities follow the natural rhythm of the local community. On certain occasions, participants may have the opportunity to witness traditional rituals that take place naturally.
Day 3
Farewell & Return to Padang
Breakfast with the Mentawai family. Travel back to Muara Siberut Port by boat and local transportation.
Lunch before departure.
02:00 PM – Depart for Padang by speedboat.
06:00 PM – Arrive in Padang, and the tour program ends.
